OVERTIME: Part-time employees are now entitled to overtime pay for work
performed outside the designated span of hours. The span of hours is depicted below.
ROSTERS: An employee who works ordinary hours across 6 days in one week of a two-week roster cycle, can work
ordinary hours on a maximum of four days in the alternate week of that cycle.
Previously, the week of up to 4 days had to follow the week of 6 days, now it can be in any order.
Note: The below depicts the rules regarding the application of ordinary hours and penalty rates in the
General Retail Industry Award 2020, specific to general retailers, that do not engage in late night shopping.
